Stage 2 Primary School

Stage 2 Primary School (Primary 4 – Primary 7)

This stage caters to children aged 7-14 years, following the National Curriculum for Uganda and England, with thoughtful adjustments to acknowledge the significance of our Ugandan context. Our goal is to establish a dynamic and creative learning environment, fostering energy and enthusiasm, where children are prompted to inquire, explore, and apply their expanding skills and knowledge to novel situations.
Classes consist of mixed-ability groups led by both a teacher and an assistant teacher. Each week, students partake in specialized classes covering English, Farming, Bakery, Art, ICT, Music, and Physical Education.
Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Education are integrated into classroom-based topic work. The curriculum is structured around thematic units, connecting essential skills, knowledge, and concepts through a central theme.
Guided reading groups, conducted regularly, provide small-group attention to specific skills, nurturing children's love for reading. Parents across all stages of the school receive frequent progress reports for their children and are encouraged to engage in open communication with teachers through the school's open-door policy. We recognize and value the crucial role parents play in their child's education, making concerted efforts to ensure they feel welcomed, valued, heard, and well-informed.
